The Secret To Being Successful.

As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.

The secret to being successful. I want to talk to you about success since it has been misunderstood. The fear of failure is, first and foremost, the biggest enemy of success. People are afraid to pursue success because they are terrified of failing, so they do not try new things. Second, all creative endeavours have the potential to succeed. Every apple seed contains a tree, and that seed contains the potential for that tree’s success. In the same way, the seed inside of you contains the potential for whatever it is you were born to do. And your ability to succeed in life rests on you freeing that potential trapped inside of you.

The secretof being a success

The definition of success is crucial because it clarifies what success is. Success is the accomplishment and successful fulfilment of the original intent or purpose of your being. Success is the accomplishment and successful fulfilment of the reason a thing is created. In other words, success is not getting a massive house and a beautiful car by the lake. Nor is it earning a lot of money. Success is very, very simple; it is not having a lot of friends, honours, or plaques on the wall. It is you discovering your purpose and then completing it before you die. In other words, success must be measured by the reason why you were created.

Reason for Years.

Success exists to serve a purpose. Success in the coming year will be another step towards fulfilling your life’s purpose. I believe that is why Yahweh gave you years so you could live your life a year at a time. What you achieve does not determine your level of success based on how others have done it. It is important to note that you compete with other people and believe you are successful because you have outperformed them. Success is not outbidding or outclassing others; you can always find someone less successful than you, so you believe you are successful.

Consequently, one should not gauge success by comparing their accomplishments to those of others. Your accomplishments should not be compared to those of others to determine your level of success. Again, success should not be measured by what you have done in comparison with what others have done. Success is measured by what you should and could have done, rather than what you have done. In other words, you are the only person who knows how successful you are.

Being First does not mean success.

The late Doctor Myles Munroe told this story as he recalled an incident from his formative years. He returned home from school, having received the highest marks in an exam that day. When he got home, he showed his mother his grade. “You came first in the class?” his mother asks, looking at the grade. “I sure did; I beat everybody else in the class. Are you not happy I came first?” he said. And when his mother saw his grades, she said, “I am disappointed in you.” Why Doctor Munroe asked his mother. “You came first with sixty-nine percent, and you think you are smart, so the others must be dumb,” she replied. In other words, he was comparing his success to others, and she told him, “You can do better than this.” To put it another way, you do not compare with others to determine your success, as she taught him.

How to compare success

But how do you compare favourably to what you are capable of doing? It is not about you trying to outdo others. In fact, according to the Bible, the race in Yahweh’s plan is not for the swift; you do not come first because you are in front. Those who persevere to the end are those who finish what they have started. That is success. Finding and fulfilling your purpose is, therefore, the key to success. What lies behind you and what lies ahead of you are insignificant in comparison to what lies within you. This statement has encouraged me for many years.

Some people start from the left and finish on the right.

When you look back at past failures, you can see that some things did not go as planned. You are aware of the things you did not complete. Some of you attempted things you wanted to do but failed. Your goals were not met, and some of your goals will never be met. So, you get depressed, but looking back does not help you in the future. And looking ahead can be very frightening since you are uncertain whether you will succeed. But I am here to tell you that what matters now is what is inside of you. Yahweh has placed in you everything you need to become. Everything you were born to be, and you are carrying it right now.

It Is Inside Of You

As a result, the Bible says, “Now unto him who can do exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond all you can ever ask or think; according to the power that is working not in heaven; but He placed the power inside of you.” And that means that whatever you were born to do and become is inside of you. Can I make a purpose statement? Purpose is so powerful that when you understand it, it becomes personal.

Why Are You Here?

First of all, nobody is born by mistake; you were created with a purpose and for a purpose. No one on this planet arrived here merely as an experiment. You were not born to earn a living, retain a job, pay expenses, and then die. You were not born to live a life of leisure, get a pension, and then pass away and be buried in a plot. Yahweh needed you to complete a task, which is why you were born. Yahweh gave you a task to do because He wanted something to happen on Earth. Job 36:5 says “God is mighty but does not despise men; He is mighty and firm in his purpose.

To despise means to disregard. Yahweh is not ignoring the 8 billion people on the planet right now. Yahweh has a plan for every human being, and He will not reject or disregard them. You were born to do something extremely important. According to Proverbs 19:21, “There are many plans in a man’s heart, but the Lord’s purpose for you will prevail,” Yahweh said. “You have many plans, but before you make any, consult with me for my purpose.” He has a plan for your life. There are some things Yahweh wants to accomplish through you this year.

This is why you should not go around making plans without first spending time with Yahweh.  That is why you must begin and end each day in his presence. You are not perceptive enough to predict your future. And because Yahweh knows your future long before you were born, He wants you to know His purpose so that your plans can be in alignment with His.

Know Your Purpose

What a tragedy it is to be successful in the wrong thing; it is terrifying to be successful in something that Yahweh never told you to do. As a result, the future of your life should always be focused on Yahweh and what He created you to be. Yahweh says, “His purpose will prevail,” but what is that purpose? Purpose is defined as the original reason for a thing’s existence, or why it exists. Second, purpose is the reason for creating something. In other words, Yahweh created you to do whatever you were born to do. You were not born to simply live and die. You were born with a specific purpose in mind. Success is defined as completing your purpose.

It is like a bird that never flies; that bird is a failure because it never flies, and that is what success is. Success is more than just existing; it is completing the purpose for which you were born. Every banana tree, mango tree, and apple tree represents the end of the seed. And the seed is not successful until it matures into a tree with fruit. That is what success is all about. It is about fulfilling and completing your life’s purpose.
