Principles are universal and transcend time and space. They provide an objective framework that can be consistently applied regardless of the situation, circumstances, and location. For example, honesty dictates the importance of truthfulness in all contexts. By adhering to these principles, we can achieve predictable and reliable outcomes, instilling a sense of reassurance and confidence based on the laws of nature, human behaviour, or established truths.

Moral Principles serve as the guiding framework for our behaviour, dictating what is deemed right or wrong. For example, the principle of justice revolves around fairness, ensuring that actions are carried out to treat individuals equally and impartially.

They empower us to make informed decisions. Consider the principle of integrity in business, highlighting the significance of consistently doing the right thing, even when unsupervised, to cultivate a culture of trust and reliability in leadership.

Spiritual Principles: serve as guiding values in harmony with divine or scriptural laws within the kingdom of God. For instance, the principle of love holds a central position, which is evident in the teachings of Yeshua Hamashiach, which encourage love for Yahweh and others (Matthew 22:37-40). This principle dictates how individuals should interact with one another and embodies the fundamental value of compassion.

It is crucial to distinguish between principles and rules. Rules are specific instructions for behaviour, often rigid and tailored to address particular circumstances. In contrast, principles provide a broader framework for the application of rules. While rules may evolve or vary across situations, principles remain constant. For example, the physical law of gravity is prevalent in every country and every continent. The foundational principle of gravity operates everywhere, and no matter where you are in the world, if you jump off a tall building, the ending will be the same.

The word ‘prince’ means first. Therefore, a principle is the first inherent (built-in) law in the product when the manufacturer creates it. This is why it is called the first law. The creator of a product incorporates the principles of how the product will function and work. These principles are not visible; they are built into the product rather than explicitly written. Understanding these principles enlightens us about the inner workings of our products, empowering us with valuable knowledge and making us more informed consumers.

Let us use nature as our example. The first principle governing a seed’s growth is its dependence on suitable, nutrient-rich soil, adequate water, and ample sunlight for germination. These necessary conditions are ingrained within the seed’s nature. Therefore, it is essential to plant the seed in fertile soil, ensure it receives sufficient water and sunlight, and allow it the opportunity to flourish and grow.
