Introduction

This blog provides practical insights to help you navigate these changes effectively. We will explore the example of the sons of Issachar, as described in 1 Chronicles 12:32. This tribe of Israel was known for its remarkable ability to understand and interpret the times they lived in. Their insight is not just a historical reference; it offers us valuable lessons for our own lives. We can respond more thoughtfully and intentionally by recognising each season’s unique circumstances and opportunities.
We aim to equip you with the tools to approach life’s transitions confidently and purposefully, empowering you to thrive every season. They could guide the entire country in making informed decisions. Understanding the current time and context is essential for knowing the right actions. It encourages the idea that being aware of the time can help us engage in meaningful activities and connect with the right people. Recognising the times and seasons allows us to navigate our choices more effectively and purposefully.
Time
If we consider life through the lens of time, we realise that wasting time is akin to abusing our very existence; it leads us to wander through life without purpose or meaning. Our fleeting time on Earth serves as the measure of our experience, but what do we truly understand about time itself? Time is like a brief interruption in the vastness of eternity—a transitory moment that we can quantify and reflect upon.
One may ponder why Yahweh, the creator of all, introduced the concept of time into the universe. What was His inspiration for bringing this dimension into existence? Yahweh fashioned time specifically for humanity, allowing us to navigate our lives within it. However, it is essential to acknowledge that He exists beyond the limits of time. This unique relationship means we must tread carefully when we seek to understand or connect with Yahweh. Although He is the architect of the time, He lives beyond its confines.
He has positioned us within the flow of time so that when He engages with us, He perceives the entire journey—seeing the end from the beginning, even while you may find yourself navigating through the uncertainties of your present moment. When He communicates with you, His words often pertain to actions you are on the cusp of taking, guiding you toward what is yet to unfold. Thus, when Yahweh advises you to remain calm and composed, you can embrace that reassurance, knowing that He possesses foreknowledge of the events that will transpire.
Yahweh urges us to brace ourselves for the future and hints that something significant is on the horizon, prompting us to prepare our hearts and minds. He is referred to as the Alpha and Omega, embodying the idea that He possesses a complete vision of the timeline, encompassing the beginning and the culmination of all things. This raises an intriguing question: Why did Yahweh choose to create the concept of time in the first place?
Time, Seasons And Purpose.
I want to draw your attention to a well-known passage in Ecclesiastes 3, one of my favourite verses. This chapter resonates with me not only because of its poetic nature but also because of the underlying struggles it addresses. I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on verse 1, as it beautifully articulates why Yahweh has bestowed upon us the gift of time.
The verse says, “To everything, there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.” It is essential to pause and contemplate the significance of these words, as they carry a weighty message about the nature of life and the divine plan behind it. When it says, “To everything, there is a season,” it implies that all aspects of existence, whether joys, sorrows, opportunities, or challenges, come with designated timeframes. This means that something is subject to its unique season if it exists.
Moreover, the continuation of this verse, “and a time for every purpose under heaven,” reinforces the idea that every action and event has a designated moment in the grand tapestry of life. It suggests that Yahweh has ordained times for various purposes, allowing us to understand that our experiences, both good and bad, are not random but rather part of a more extensive divine schedule. This passage invites us to appreciate the cyclical nature of life and the importance of recognising our place within the seasons that shape our journey.
Every aspect of creation is imbued with a specific purpose, and each purpose is intricately linked to a designated timeframe within which it must be realised. This implies that everything, from the smallest organism to the grandest celestial body, has a reason for being and a period in which that reason must come to fruition. The timing associated with each purpose is essential, as it upholds the divine order and intention behind creation.
Purpose and Season
Everything in this world, including you, was created for a specific purpose, and that purpose has an assigned season. There comes a time when each creation is meant to fulfil its purpose. Consequently, time was created to allow for that fulfilment. It is important to remember that time exists to serve a specific purpose. Yahweh’s creations have a designated timeframe for their purpose and existence. The verse states, “To everything, there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
Every intention and aspiration in life comes with a finite span, suggesting that each of us is destined to fulfil a specific purpose. This reality underscores the urgency of our existence; we are not granted an endless opportunity to pursue our dreams and passions. Instead, we are reminded that our time is limited, and it is essential to embrace our calling before the sands of time slip away.
Seasons Of Life
The Bible frequently refers to different “seasons” in life, symbolising the various phases and periods we experience. Each season has its purpose, providing unique opportunities for growth, learning, and strengthening our faith. We can fully embrace their potential by understanding these seasons and seeking Yahweh’s guidance during each. Here is a breakdown of some key biblical seasons and how to navigate them effectively:
1. Season of Preparation (Planting): Ecclesiastes 3:1-2;
Purpose: This is a season for growth, where we can focus on learning, developing new skills, and laying strong foundations for the future.
How to Make the Most of It: Investing in personal growth is essential during this time. For instance, Joseph’s story in Genesis highlights a period when he was imprisoned and had to wait patiently while developing his leadership skills before rising to a position of power in Egypt. Likewise, we should be proactive in studying, acquiring new skills, and staying faithful, even when we do not see immediate results.
2. Season of Waiting (Patience and Endurance): Psalm 27:14;
Purpose: The waiting season allows us to cultivate patience and deepen our faith, encouraging us to trust Yahweh’s timing instead of hastily moving forward.
How to Make the Most of It: Use this time for prayer, reflection, and staying faithful in small tasks. David waited many years after being anointed king before taking the throne, learning humility and reliance on Yahweh. Practising patience, self-discipline, and trust helps to develop resilience and spiritual maturity.
3. Season of Growth (Fruitfulness and Progress): Galatians 6:9;
Purpose: This season shows clear progress and achievements, a testament to the hard work and dedication invested in the past.
How to Make the Most of It: In times of growth, it is essential to remain humble and remember the source of our blessings. Joseph’s success as a leader in Egypt enabled him to save his family and many others from famine. Similarly, we should use our periods of success to bless others, express gratitude, and share our resources generously.
4. Season of Trials and Testing: James 1:2-3;
Purpose: Trials help to strengthen our faith, teach us to rely on God, and build our endurance.
How to Make the Most of It: Focusing on Yahweh’s promises and seeking His strength is essential during difficult times. Despite losing everything, Job remained faithful and, in turn, received Yahweh’s blessings multiple times. By maintaining our faith, seeking support from trusted friends, and trusting in Yahweh’s purpose, we can emerge from trials with a stronger and more resilient spirit.
5. Season of Renewal and Rest: Matthew 11:28-29;
Purpose: This season focuses on spiritual and physical rejuvenation, helping us recharge and gain a fresh perspective.
How to Make the Most of It: Prioritise self-care by embracing rest times, praying, and appreciating the beauty of Yahweh’s creation. As Yeshua withdrew from the crowds to pray and restore His spirit, we should follow His example. Rest is essential for maintaining long-term productivity, and well-being is vital for overall health.
6. Season of Harvest (Fulfilment and Abundance): 2 Corinthians 9:10;
Purpose: The harvest season reveals the fruits of our labour, prayers, and faithfulness.
How to Make the Most of It: This season, we must focus on enjoying the fruits of our labour, sharing our blessings, and giving back. For instance, when the Israelites entered the Promised Land, they could finally enjoy its abundance after years of preparation and hardship. Let us acknowledge Yahweh’s provision by being generous and investing in the growth of others.
7. Season of Transition: Isaiah 43:18-19;
Purpose: Transition seasons represent changes or new directions in our lives, including shifts in jobs, locations, or relationships.
How to Make the Most of It: Embrace change by seeking Yahweh’s guidance and being open to life’s opportunities. Reflecting on Abraham’s journey, his call to leave the familiar marked a transition that led to extraordinary blessings. Change can foster personal growth, meaningful relationships, and alignment with Yahweh’s purposes. Each change is a stepping stone toward understanding ourselves and our faith, encouraging us to trust the journey ahead.
Each season—whether it involves waiting, growth, trials, rest, or abundance—has a specific purpose in Yahweh’s plan. By embracing these seasons with trust, faith, and action, we can experience growth and fulfilment that align with Yahweh’s purposes. Every season reminds us that Yahweh continually works to shape, prepare, and bless us, even when we face challenges.
Time Waits For No Man.
When Yahweh moved you from eternity and placed you in time, He assigned you a season in life. This means you have no time to waste, as time does not wait for you to find your purpose. If you are unaware of why you were born, life will pass you by. Even if you discover your purpose at ninety, it may be too late to fulfil it. This is why the Bible says, “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth.” It emphasises the importance of finding Yahweh early in life so that you have the time to complete your assignment.
It is essential to make good use of the time we are given, as it is meant to fulfil our mission. Time manifests itself in seasons, and it is crucial to recognise this. For instance, a year is divided into winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Each of these seasons represents a specific period within the time allocated by Yahweh. When the seasons change, we must adapt accordingly. It is essential to embrace the season we are in. For example, when winter arrives, you would not wear swimwear; likewise, when summer comes, you would not wear a winter coat. Adapting to the seasons is critical to making the most of our journey.
When the seasons change, it is essential to adapt and grow as everything unfolds in the context of time. This prompts a valuable question: How does Yahweh measure time? Reflecting on this can deepen our understanding and help us consider how Yahweh measures the significance of our lives.
What Did You Do With Your Life?
Yahweh views your existence not through the lens of the number of years you have lived but by the significance of your purpose. Your age holds no weight in His eyes; reaching the seventy years or beyond milestone does not impress Him. The passage of time does not carry any negative implications because Yahweh never asks you how old you are. This inquiry is absent from the scriptures. Instead, His question is, “What have you accomplished with the days I have given you?” Allow me to emphasise this: the true essence of life is not measured by its duration but by the kindness and impact you share with others during your journey.
Our lives are not measured by their duration but by the impact we make; what truly matters is the contributions we achieve and the positive changes we bring about during our time instead of the number of years we have lived.
Call To Action
Yahweh cares more about how you use your time than the length of your life. Yeshua said in judgment, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Your life should be measured not by its duration but by its effectiveness. It is essential to understand your unique calling to make the most of your time and fulfil your purpose. You were born with a purpose which holds you accountable for your actions and enables you to live meaningfully.
