Introduction
Now You Have Creativity In You. Have you ever thought about the idea that you were created in the image of Yahweh? This concept suggests that you have an inherent capacity for creativity, just like He does. While Yahweh creates from nothing, we make using things that already exist. How does Yahweh create things into existence? It all begins in His mind. Every creation starts with a single thought, which is the foundation of His creative process. This thought then evolves into a dialogue, which we can see in the verses of Genesis 1:26-28. In these passages, Elohim boldly declares, “Let us make man in our image and our likeness.”
Reflect on the significance of this statement. It implies that the image of Elohim existed before His declaration. For Elohim to make man in His likeness, an image had to be drawn upon. Without such an image, His words would hold no meaning, as there would be nothing from which He could shape humanity. In our hearts, we carry the image of Yahweh, reflecting a sense of creativity and purpose. It is a reminder that we all have the potential to create with intention and to pursue meaningful paths in our lives.
Creativity and Innovation
Just as Yahweh created the heavens, the earth, and all living beings, humans are gifted with creative attributes that empower us to make meaningful contributions. This ability encourages us to innovate, build, and envision new possibilities to enhance our world. By harnessing our creativity, we can turn ideas into tangible solutions, working collaboratively to shape a better future for ourselves and future generations. Each act of creativity reflects our potential and inspires others to join in the journey of exploration and transformation.
Where Yahweh creates out of nothing, our creativity is limited to existing things. An example is making houses and furniture out of trees. People engage in innovation, art, technology, and culture, reflecting the quality of being made in the “image of Yahweh.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 emphasises this creative impulse by stating that Yahweh “has set eternity in the human heart,” highlighting a deep yearning to create and connect with something everlasting.
To Be who You Are.
Elohim blessed them and said, “Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it.” These words carry significance. It is essential to understand that your identity drives your actions. While we often find ourselves yearning for material possessions and achievements—such as luxurious cars, wealth, beautiful homes, and exquisite jewellery—it is essential to recognise that our pursuit should begin with the state of our being.
Although we may be preoccupied with the desire to “have,” Elohim encourages us to prioritise the journey of “being.” This fundamental aspect of our identity is the bedrock upon which our actions are built. To indeed “be” means to embrace who you are, which will naturally lead to meaningful actions—this is the essence of “doing.” As you engage in purposeful activities, those actions translate into what you ultimately “have.” If you are looking to transform your circumstances and the possessions in your life, the transformation must begin within you.
It is a journey where being shapes doing, and doing, in turn, shapes having. In this framework, being represents your true identity and essence, doing embodies the deeds you undertake, and having refers to the tangible outcomes and possessions you acquire. By nurturing your identity—your authentic self—you empower your actions and manifest the rewards you seek in life. Engaging in purposeful activities aligning with your values is essential to attaining your desired goals. The same principles that render fornication and adultery unacceptable apply to stealing as well.
When you steal, you are coveting something that rightfully belongs to someone else, which is wrong. However, when it comes to loving relationships, such as that between a husband and wife, there is nothing wrong with a man wanting to be with his wife or a woman yearning for her husband. This is grounded in their commitment—a covenant that lies at the foundation of their relationship. In much the same way, wanting financial stability or wealth is not wrong. What matters is your willingness to put in the effort to work hard and create value for others rather than seeking to satisfy your desires in dishonest or unethical ways.
When you try to contribute positively to society, you will find that the rewards you seek often follow. To achieve financial success, focus not on wishing for money but on providing valuable products or services that fulfil the desires of others. By creating something that meets their needs, you establish a mutually beneficial exchange where they gladly invest in the value you offer. This approach not only helps you earn money but also makes a positive impact on those you serve.
Own your identity
Know Who You Are.
To unlock your potential, embracing and understanding your identity is essential. I frequently have meaningful discussions with people about this topic because many often find their sense of self from external influences rather than the One who created them. Instead of relying on societal standards, reflecting inward and discovering your true identity is valuable. People tend to shape their self-concept through various aspects of culture, including the educational system, workplace environments, parental expectations, and messages conveyed through television, music, magazines, and literature.
While these sources can offer insights, they may need to accurately capture the depth and uniqueness of who you are. When you encounter challenges that seem too daunting, it can be a signal to reassess your understanding of your identity. Remember that Yahweh created you with exceptional potential, greater than all His creations. This inherent greatness indicates that you are equipped to handle life’s complexities. You can approach any difficulty with confidence and resilience by recognising your strengths and abilities. Embracing this perspective will empower you to overcome obstacles and thrive.
Embracing the understanding that you are made in the image of the all-powerful Yahweh can inspire you to recognise your potential. This identity empowers you to face challenges, overcome obstacles, and achieve extraordinary goals. It is important to push past the limitations imposed by your current circumstances—choose to rise above them. The word “circumstances” is insightful; it suggests being surrounded or encircled while remaining stationary. In this context, your circumstances reflect the conditions that envelop you when you choose to stand still.
However, by taking action and stepping out of that static state, you free yourself from the constraints of your situation. The Bible offers wisdom by stating that “a wise man’s eyes are in his head.” This means that true insight comes from what you see with your eyes and a deeper understanding within your mind. Your eyes serve as valuable tools, guiding your perception of the world while your mind provides the clarity and perspective needed to navigate life’s complexities. Let this understanding inspire you to see opportunities where others may see obstacles and move forward confidently.
When you look beyond the surface and engage your mind, you can appreciate that Yahweh created you in His image and bestowed the dignity of kingship upon you. Reflecting on this, we can ask ourselves, “What is man that you (Yahweh) are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?” Indeed, we have been made a little lower than the heavenly beings and are crowned with glory and honour. Embracing this understanding can inspire us to live with purpose and confidence.
Crowned With Glory
You Have Been Crowned
Yahweh bestows upon you glory and honour. While you might not always feel this way, it is essential to recognise that your identity comes from the One who created you. Often, we find ourselves influenced by external sources, like television, which can shape our perception of who we are. Embracing your identity as defined by your Creator can help you appreciate the glory and honour that belongs to you.
You got your identity from someone who told you were too short, too tall, or too fat. You are too skinny, too stupid, and too ugly, and you cannot sing. You need to speak better and buy the lie rather than owning the identity Yahweh gave you. “You are more than conquerors through him who loved you,” and nothing out there can defeat you.
Predator or prey?
Who Is Pursuing Whom?
Have you ever wondered why human eyes are positioned as they are? According to Yahweh’s design, there are two distinct types of animals: predators and prey. By closely observing the placement of their eyes, you can often tell which category an animal belongs to. Predators, with their eyes set at the front of their heads, have a wide field of vision focused on their target, allowing them to track and pursue their next meal precisely. On the other hand, prey animals possess eyes on the sides of their heads, granting them a panoramic view of their surroundings to detect any threats that might be closing in from behind.
In your current situation, you may feel vulnerable, believing yourself to be prey, but this perception stems from a lack of understanding regarding your true identity and potential. You might say, “The wise man’s eyes are in his head,” suggesting that awareness is critical to understanding our place in the world. However, it is not merely my physical sight that defines whether I am a predator or prey; my mind’s clarity shapes my identity.
When you become focused on the challenges and threats surrounding you—those dangers that seem to conspire against you—you risk becoming entrapped by your circumstances and losing your sense of urgency. In contrast, when you pursue your passions and remain dedicated to your life’s purpose, you embody the qualities of a predator—intense, focused, and determined. This pursuit is fuelled by the understanding of who you are. It empowers you to confront and triumph over the ultimate adversaries: the world’s temptations, the struggles of the flesh, and the devil’s deceptions.
With the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the guiding light of the Word of Yahweh, you realise that you are not just existing; you are thriving, refusing to be rendered helpless.
Challenge
A Dare To Respond.
I invite you to embark on a journey of creativity by producing content that draws inspiration from the concepts in Yahweh’s Word. Embrace and celebrate your identity as a unique individual created in the image of Yahweh. But why is this recognition so significant? It is essential to grasp the true essence of who you are at your core. When I mention the real world, I am not referring to the visible, tangible world around us. The physical realm represents something much more profound with its sights and sounds. It is essential to understand that the physical universe is not the entirety of reality; instead, the invisible world is the foundation of our existence.
Your authentic self exists beyond superficial labels and societal categorisations. This understanding reveals that your identity transcends race, gender, or any identity markers—whether you identify as black, white, male, or female. It is crucial to fully embrace and own the identity that Yahweh has bestowed upon you as a son or daughter of the living God. This acceptance will empower you to navigate the complexities of life with confidence and purpose.
Conclusion
In the opening chapter of Genesis, we see a connection between humanity and Yahweh. These qualities mirror His creative power and capacity to shape, nurture, and cultivate the world around us. A pivotal moment in this narrative occurs in Genesis 1:26-27, where Yahweh declares, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” This statement emphasises the unique “image” that humans bear, which includes a range of divine attributes gifted to us, such as the ability to create, reason, and exercise stewardship over the Earth. This divine image sets humanity apart, inviting us to engage actively with the world in ways that honour our Creator’s intentions.
When I talk about creativity, I am highlighting not just artistic expression but also the valuable skill of thinking outside the box to uncover innovative solutions. It is about finding connections in what may seem like chaos in our daily lives. To nurture your creativity, consider trying new approaches to familiar tasks, viewing problems from different angles, or engaging in activities that invigorate your imagination, such as drawing, writing, or brainstorming. Remember, creativity goes beyond being artistic; it encompasses innovation and bringing fresh perspectives to longstanding challenges.
It is about recognising opportunities where others might see limitations. Embrace these practices to unlock your creative potential and enhance your problem-solving skills!
